Kiddie Day Care Accident & Emergency Policy & Procedure
It is our policy to observe and react to any incident or accident that may occur at KDC as it arises. We will employ the following measures:
- We will first try to notify the child's parent/guardian of the incident.
- We will contact emergency services via 911.
- We will coordinate necessary transportation to nearby healthy facilities upon request of parent/guardian.
- The administrator or teacher will accompany the child, if parent/guardian is not available at the time of transport.
In the event of a natural disaster or fire, where the evacuation of the building becomes necessary, the following will apply:
Champion Center:
The staff and children will be removed from the center and relocated to the parking lot of Rite-Aid, adjacent to KDC. Staff will maintain supervision of their group with attendance sheets in hand and proceed to notify parents by cell phone as to the whereabouts of their child or children.
Howland Center:
The staff and children will be removed from the center and relocated to the parking lot of James Dance Studio, adjacent to KDC. Staff will maintain supervision of their group with attendance sheets in hand an proceed to notify parents by cell phone as to the whereabouts of their child or children.
Boardman Center:
The staff and children will be removed from center and relocated to the open field adjacent to KDC. Staff will maintain supervision of their group with attendance sheets in hand and proceed to notify parents by cell phone as to the whereabouts of their child or children.
In the event of a power outage, we will call Ohio Edison to find out the estimated time for repair and return of power. If it is longer than one hour during either extreme summer heat or a cold winter, parents will be notified to pick up their child or children.
In situations where the closing of our centers are necessary, due to weather or other unforeseen occurrences, KDC will notify local broadcast services and radio stations accordingly.
